Driver Faces 8 Charges after 1-Vehicle Accident

February 18th, 2008 · No Comments

A Cassville, Wisconsin man is facing 8 charges following an accident involving only his car. The 8 charges consist of operating while intoxicated, failure to notify police of an accident, recklessly endangering safety, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct,  inattentive driving, operating left of the center line, and hit-and-run property adjacent to a highway.

While the police were on their way to the accident, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene. Two witnesses, who had to take evasive measures when the other vehicle was in their lane of the road, told police what happened. The charged man also hit a fence post adjacent to the road.

After fleeing the scene, the driver was later found in a tavern in a nearby town.

While no one was injured in the accident, there was great potential for a serious accident involving multiple vehicles.
